Honey is one of the oldest sweeteners on earth, and most of what's on shelves barely counts. Here's how we think about it.
real vs. not
A lot of grocery honey is heated, over-filtered, and cut with syrup until there's not much bee left in it. Real honey is raw, sometimes cloudy, and tastes like where it came from.
why it matters on froyo
Honey does something sugar can't. It adds floral, almost caramel notes and a little acidity that plays perfectly against tangy yogurt. A slow drizzle is all you need.
- raw and unfiltered when we can get it
- local when the season allows
- used with a light hand, never drowned
a good drizzle of honey does more than a scoop of syrup ever could.
It's a small thing that makes a big difference. That's kind of our whole approach.
