behind the build: shell to shop

A shop doesn't look like much on day one. Ours started as an empty shell with good bones and a lot of imagination.

the messy middle

There's a stretch where it's all dust and decisions. Paint samples taped to the wall. Arguments about the exact brown. Someone on a ladder every single day.

• we tested the swirl before we tested the tile
• the wall color took four tries
• the counter moved three times on paper

why it matters

The room is part of the product. We want a space that looks as good as the cup, because you're going to photograph both.
